Board Member

Dr. Karpecki received his doctor of optometry degree from Indiana University and completed a fellowship in cornea in Kansas City, in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He currently serves as Director of Cornea and External  Disease at Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington KY and for Center for Sight in  Carmel IN. He also serves as an Associate Professor at the Kentucky College of  Optometry in Pikeville, and is the Medical Director for KEPLR Vision.  

Dr. Karpecki was appointed to the Delphi International Society, which included the top 25 dry eye experts in the world. He co-chaired the Dry Eye Summit for  the profession, was selected to the TFOS DEWS II Diagnostic Methodology sub committee and appointed co-chair of the upcoming and previous Tear Film and  

Ocular Surface Society Symposia. He served as Co-chair of the Dry Eye Showcase at the Ophthalmic Innovations Summit. He has an extensive cornea practice and as an example he has over 600 positive diagnosed Sjogrens’ Syndrome  patients under his care.  

He currently serves as the Chief Clinical Editor for Review of Optometry and he is on the board of the charitable organization Optometry Giving Sight.

Cynthia Matossian, MD, FACS, is the founder and medical director of Matossian Eye Associates, a practice with 3 offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She is a consultant to numerous pharmaceutical and medical device companies and is the President of the American College of Eye Surgeons, and the NY IOL Implant Society. She is the chair of the Development Committee for Women in Ophthalmology. She serves on multiple editorial boards, has published numerous articles, and received the prestigious Ophthalmic World Leaders Visionary Award and was included in the Ocular Surgery News’ Premier Surgeon 300 list. Dr. Matossian has been selected as one of the top 100 most Influential Female Figures in Ophthalmology by the Ophthalmologist Power List. Most recently, she was recognized for excellence by Jerseys Top Doctors in September of 2021. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology (Adjunct) at Temple University School of Medicine. She is also the Chief Medical Officer for Glint Pharmaceuticals.

Jesse Nord is a founding partner of The Nord Group LLP, a transactional entertainment law firm located in Los Angeles, California. The firm’s practice centers on the representation of individual writers, actors, directors, producers, and rights holders in their negotiations with studios and financiers.

Jesse is a zealous advocate for her clients, fiercely guarding their interests and ensuring they obtain the maximum value for their services and intellectual property. She obtained her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and her B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Southern California.

As a patient of POTS Care, PLLC who has benefited from the support of TJ Nutrition products, Jesse has a personal connection to the work of TJ Nutrition.

Gayle Karanges, O.D.

Dr. Gayle Karanges has over 30 years of clinical practice with extensive medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic experience in eye disease. She is a clinical field director for MyEyeDoctor, responsible for over 50 locations for Capital Vision services in the Dallas and Houston areas. Dr. Karanges coaches and mentors over 50 optometrists to help them grow their clinical practices. She is a therapeutic and glaucoma specialist with expertise in practice management and the financial analysis of optometric practices.

Dr. Karanges is a graduate of the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate in optometry. She is also a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, with a biology major. 

Dr. Karanges is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She served as an adjunct preceptor for Salus University, College of Optometry and participated in clinical research for Alcon Laboratories, conducting research for FDA clearance of contact lens solutions and products. Dr. Karanges was a shareholder, board member and past president for First Eyecare, a group of independent optometrists who lead, manage and consult for all aspects of the business of optometric practices. 

Dr. Karanges is an Advisory Member for MyndVr, a health and wellness company focused on improving the lives of the aging population. She acts as a business consultant and expert in the medical application of virtual reality therapy.

Bill Thompson, O.D.

Bill Thompson, O.D.

Board Member

Dr. Thompson is licensed at the highest level available by the Texas Optometry Board, is Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Thompson is a past President of the Northeast Texas Optometric Society and is a member of the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Thompson has been appointed to serve on the Texas Optometry Board, the licensing and regulatory agency for the state of Texas. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1981.

Dr. Thompson continues to enhance his knowledge and training in eye care through ongoing continuing education, is married with a daughter and son, and is active in his church.
